In my experience, PS2 -> USB keyboard adapters only work when they're shipped with the keyboard. I'm typing on a MS Natural Keyboard now that uses a PS2 -> USB adapter (that came with it) and it works fine on my G5 and my XP machine. This adapter only works with this model keyboard though. 3) If that doesn't help then enter Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button, go to Mice > Touchpad and then Driver tab. Choose Update Driver, then Automatic to see if it gets a better driver that resolves the problem. If not try Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick to try all previously installed drivers. Also not working for me on my Z500, It seems to be an issue to do with the Intel Chipset Drivers. On my system I've had to turn off automatic driver download because it breaks -everything-.. A (temporary) solution that works for me is to litterally go into device manager on the laptop, and uninstall the chipset controller, then restart. First of all,the keyboard must support power on by keyboard, it must be the PS/2 keyboard!! Memo:(1)ASUS BIOS can't support power on by USB keyboard! (2)If not connect PS2 keyboard, you can't see the option of power on by keyboard! The steps are below: 1. Press 'Del' or 'F2' in the keyboard after power on, enter into Advanced Mode: To do so, follow the steps bellow: Press Windows key. Type Troubleshooting and then press Enter. Select troubleshooting. My Model M is completely unresponsive in the BIOS - even the lock lights won’t come on, and the board explorer reports the PS/2 port as empty.
